the stream

A stream is a natural flow of water located in a mountainous area with steep slopes, irregular flow and can have great capacity for erosion. Is a term widely used in both hydrography and geomorphology as in the broader field of physical geography. It is often used synonymously with ravine although the latter term seems to have a closer relationship with the bed of a torrent with the same self-stream. It is also used very often, especially in the eastern part of the Iberian Peninsula, the term of Arab origin, promenade.
