Los Glaciares

A glacier is a thick mass of ice that originates in the Earth's surface accumulation, compaction and recrystallization of snow, showing evidence of flow in the past or today. Their existence is possible when the annual snowfall exceeds evaporation in summer, so the majority are in areas near the poles, although there are in other mountainous areas. The process of glacier growth and establishment is called glaciation. It consists of three parts: header or circus, tongue and valley or area of ablation.
